Weekly Froth | Friday April 24

We are winning

Fun beach-breaks this week, clean mornings, light winds and plenty of banks to get your surfercise in. The swell seems to pulse a little on the incoming so keep an eye out for an afternoon session.  Noosa for a ripple ride not much going on at the points. Low tide only for a walk, paddle and occasional set.

Alex Bay is sporting a few banks slightly cleaner as the wind swings to the SE worth a trek. The run of small east swell continues over the  weekend  winds are light and cleaner early. It’s hard to gauge but we may see slightly bigger sets on the swell magnet banks. Check for sand banks further out to sea with channels to the beach they seem to surface around mid-tide.

It will be low early and high late morning to midday most of the week ahead.  The swell size will vary next week but could surprise if it continues with a hint of east in it expecting 2ft with a few 3ft sets in the mix. West winds will kick in mid-week a window to the winter ahead clear skies and offshore breezes. The water temp is still 23-24 degrees with a cooler wind a vest or springy ok at the moment. Spread out there are plenty of banks from North Sunshine to Castaways there’s nothing like a solo surf you’ll get more than surfing in pack.

Long range there is swell on the way for the first week of May, a  South swell is building in the 3-4ft range winds will vary it’s possible The Shine early and a few point peelers on offer. Keep an eye on the SW wind and UTB.

Noosa Boardriders Club has some champions, here’s a shot of 1994 world junior champion and NBC life member Nick J Wallace threading the eye of an Indo tube. Some inspiration to dream a little while in isolation.  If members have any photographs you would like to share on NBC social media and web site please email to: mickcourt14@icloud.com

Keep the surfboard volume up while its small and “Get in, get out” we are winning this battle!
