Shotgun Shootout - Mark Bain Constructions

The Noosa Boardriders Club Shotgun Shootout sprang into action last weekend in perfect 3ft conditions. Groomed walls with room for cover ups and big airs. The competition was tight with Aaron Kelly taking first place over Noah Stocca.

Junior standout Ben Lorentson took out WQS surfer Cooper Davies, not an easy feat on any day. The O45’s were also in the water with Stu Campbell from Campbell Designs taking the honours runner up Eggy Endersby in a tightly surfed final. Thanks to Mark Bain Constructions for putting on the show.

Noosa Boardriders Club also held a fund raiser for Sammy Ring last Friday night at the Peregian Beach SLSC the event was well attended with over $30,000 raised to assist the family. To donate and help out there is a Go Fund Me campaign to help Sammy overcome the battle of a lifetime!

It’s been a big week of waves, perfect conditions with all point breaks firing from 2ft First Point to solid 6ft Granite Bay.

The sand has filtered through with Ti-Tree and National through the car park section with some fine walls. There will still be some residual swell floating around today get in quick.

All in all it been pumping! Looking to the weekend the swell is easing and its back to open beaches, WNW winds early and swing to NE later. The large swell has punched some big holes and gutters in the sand banks could well be some great beachies with plenty of power to play with.

Next week looks to be a mixed bag with small beach breaks Monday. A wind and swell change to the SE could pulse up a bit on Tuesday with small point waves but worth keeping an eye on Wednesday for a few larger outer point runners.

Noosa West has banks working through mid to high. The back end of the week the swell fades and ESE winds kick in with the open beaches for a few choppy hits the best of it.

Some news from the Noosa Malibu Club members were also in competition mode at the recent 2020 Qld Surf Titles 27 members competed with 6 new state Longboard champions Emily Lethbridge Open Womens, Kaiden Smales U18 Boys, Luca Doble U18 Girls, Hayden swan O50 Mens, Leith Goebel O50 Womens, Albie Curtis O65 Mens. On top of this the Logger divisions were also dominated by NMC members with 5 wins. Nic Brewer Open Mens, Emily Lethbridge Open Womens, Luca Doble U18 Girls, Hayden Swan O40, Kirsty Quirk O40 Womens. What a hall!

It’s tight out there stop the dropping in for a safer surf!
